GERMANY
Stuttgart

Architect/Designer:
Mies van der Rohe

Mies van der Rohe's was the first architect to adapt the steel framework to the requirements of the "new way of living". The row house is a preliminary stage to Mies' large blocks of flats in Chicago. The storeys of the structure have different floor plans. In the flat depicted in the construction photo, steel supports are arranged free across the space.
